Galactic Nightmare (Japanese: 動きだす銀河の影) was a villain event in Pokémon Masters EX. It served as a prelude to the Sinnoh chapter of the Villain Arc, featuring battles against Team Galactic. It was one of the Sinnoh villain events, the others being Dreams of the Void and Galactic Awakening.
The "Sygna Suit Cynthia Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Cynthia (Renegade) & Giratina from the beginning of the event to February 28, 2022.
During this event, players could earn Event Vouchers C from battles against Team Galactic that could be redeemed in the shop for rewards. Obtaining 1,000 vouchers would unlock the story area A Perfect World. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.
Plot
The player and Cynthia are investigating replica ruins on Pasio when they are ambushed by a group of Team Galactic Grunts who want to steal their Pokémon. They threaten the player, and despite Cynthia telling them the player is not her assistant, the grunts refuse to let them go without a battle.
After the grunts are defeated, they decide to retreat, and Cynthia thanks the player for their help, wondering if those were the only members of Team Galactic here on Pasio. Meanwhile, Cyrus thinks to himself that he has not given up on his goal of creating a new, perfect world without spirit, revealing that Team Galactic has created a hideout on Pasio for Cyrus, his commanders, and his grunts.
