When the Pokémon is hit by an attack, it scatters cotton fluff around and lowers the Speed stat of all Pokémon except itself.

Cotton Down (Japanese: わたげ Cotton Down) is an Ability introduced in Generation VIII. It is the signature Ability of Gossifleur and Eldegoss.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a damaging move, the Speed of all other Pokémon is decreased by one stage.

If a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a multistrike move (such as Fury Swipes), each hit activates this Ability.

Outside of battle

Cotton Down has no effect outside of battle.

In Pokémon UNITE, Cotton Down is Eldegoss's Ability. When receiving a certain amount of damage, the Ability causes user to recover HP, deal revenge damage, and decrease the enemies movement speed for a short time. This Ability has a 10s cooldown.
