Route 3
Route 3 is a grassy road that leads east from Pewter City into the mountains around Route 4. Many Trainers can be found along the way as they raise their Pokémon for the upcoming cave.

Mt. Moon
Mt. Moon is a mystical mountain that is known for its frequent meteor falls. The shards of stars that fall here are known as Moon Stones. Though it was once a large network of tunnels, the cave has since become unstable. Recent collapses have left most areas impassable except for one large chamber that links the two routes. This chamber also provides access to Mt. Moon Square.

A Familiar Face
Upon entering Mt. Moon, you are immediately approached by Silver. He has been doing some self-reflection to find out what he is lacking with his Pokémon, and believes that he has found an answer.
Rival Battle 6
Silver's team is nearly the same as it was in the previous battle, though his Haunter and Kadabra have since evolved into Gengar and Alakazam, respectively. Use super effective moves to target his Pokémon's weaknesses for best results.

After the battle, Silver finally admits defeat. He still intends to be the strongest Pokémon Trainer ever, but has a newfound appreciation for his Pokémon. He promises to finally prove himself one day by defeating you, then leaves.
Mt. Moon Square
Mt. Moon Square is a small clearing located on top of the mountain, where few people ever venture. A small shop is located here.
Shop
This shop is open from 10:00 am to 5:59 pm, and offers a variety of goods tailored to the weary traveler.
Clefairy Dance
Between 8:00 pm Monday and 4:00 am Tuesday, two Clefairy appear in the western field and begin dancing around a large rock, as a kind of ritual to honor the moon. They get startled when you approach and run away, leaving the rock behind. Use Rock Smash to clear it away and find a Moon Stone in the debris. The Clefairy repeat their dance every Monday night.
Route 4
Route 4 is a one-way road leading downhill from the mountains to Cerulean City.
