Kinesis (Japanese: スプーンまげ Spoon Bend) is a non-damaging Psychic-type move introduced in Generation I. It is the signature move of Kadabra and Alakazam.
Effect
Generations I to II
Kinesis decreases the target's accuracy stat by one stage.
In the Generation I and II core series games, when an in-game opponent outside of the Battle Tower uses Kinesis, the move has a 25% chance to fail in addition to its normal chance to miss.
Generation III
Kinesis can be used as the first move of a Pokémon Contest combination, causing Confusion, Future Sight, Psychic, and Teleport to score double the normal appeal if used in the next turn. It can also be used to finish a combination, with the user gaining 3 bonus appeal points if Confusion or Psychic was used in the previous turn.
Generation IV to VII
Kinesis can now be reflected with Magic Coat.
If powered up by a Psychium Z into Z-Kinesis, the user's evasiveness is raised by one stage.
Generation VIII
Pokémon Sword and Shield
In Versions 1.0 to 1.1.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Kinesis could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 1.2.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.
Generation IX
Kinesis cannot be selected in a battle.

Trivia
- This move is a reference to the psychokinetic spoon bending tricks popularized by stage psychic Uri Geller.
- Along with Barrage and Struggle, Kinesis is one of three moves introduced in Generation I that have not been featured in the main anime series. In the case of Kinesis, this may be due to legal issues between Nintendo and Geller.
- In Pokémon Red and Blue, no Pokémon could learn Kinesis; it only appeared as a random result of Metronome. From Pokémon Yellow onward, Kadabra has it as a starting move, such that wild Kadabra know Kinesis in Pokémon Yellow and the Generation II games. Kadabra and Alakazam can also be taught Kinesis using the Move Reminder in Pokémon Stadium 2.
- Kinesis is the only move that is formerly unusable in Generation VIII to use an unusable move description until Version 1.2.0 of Pokémon Sword and Shield.
