Mt. Avalanche (Japanese: なだれやま Mt. Avalanche) is a dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky in the Icy Area. Articuno guards the Icy Flute at Mt. Avalanche Peak (Japanese: なだれやま ちょうじょう). The Pokémon found here are very similar to those found in Blizzard Island and Crevice Cave.

Gameplay

The jobs are ranked E, ★2, ★3, ★4 or ★5 by default, depending on the floor.

Floors 1 through 5 are medium-sized, with 3-8 rooms on floors 1 and 3, and 3-9 on floors 2, 4 and 5. Later floors are large-sized with 3-13 rooms, except on floors 6 and 7 with 3-12 and 3-10 rooms instead, respectively. There are 2-5 items on ground on the first two floors, and 3-6 on later floors. There's also 6-9 items buried in the walls. There's 2-3 starting enemies on floors 1 and 2, 2-4 on floors 3 through 6, and 4-7 on floors 7 through 19.

The IQ Booster activates on every floor. Turn limit is 1000. There is water in the dungeon. Enemies in the dungeon have 331IQ, including Articuno.

Weather on floors 2, 4 and 6 is snow, while on floors 3, 5 and 9 it's cloudy.

Like other Seven Treasures dungeons other than Sky Stairway, stat boosting items and Lost Loot are buried in the walls (in contrast to most dungeons which only have Poké).

Pokémon encountered

Each time player enters a floor, only 14 of the species that can be found on a given floor will be chosen. The unpicked Pokémon's spawn rate will be added to whichever picked Pokémon is next in the National Dex order, going back to the beginning if needed.
