In the movie, Shaymin is the Gratitude Pokémon. Shaymin has the ability of communication by way telepathy, and a problem of arrogance, because it is only ever talking about the gratitude that the people have to take with it. Shaymin also has a habit of running from everything and screaming that it is going to be eaten. Shaymin enjoys annoying Ash and sitting on his head, saying that if it is going to be eaten, it'd like Ash to be eaten as well. Shaymin eventually develops a strong bond with Ash and Dawn. Shaymin battles against Giratina and later against Zero, with Ash and Giratina, and they end up defeating him. At the end of the movie, Shaymin decides to remain in a Glacidea, with other Shaymin.
