Bite (Japanese: かみつく Bite) is a Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I that deals a small amount of damage. In Generation I, this move is Template:Type2.
Effect
Generation I
Bite does damage and has a 9.8% chance of causing the opponent to flinch.
Bite can only cause the opponent to flinch if the user attacks before the opponent does. Bite can't make an opponent with a Substitute flinch.
Bite is a Normal-type move.
Generation II and on
Same as Generation I, though Bite is now a Dark-type move and has a 30% chance of causing flinching.

Totodile. It runs to the foe and bites it.

Granbull. It bites down on its opponent.

Trivia
- Bite is one of the four moves to have its type changed in Generation II, the others being Gust, Karate Chop, and Sand-Attack. Coincidentally, they all were Template:Type2 moves in Generation I. Bite is also the only move that was changed to a type introduced in Generation II.
- Bite is also the only move to have its damage category change from Physical to Special, then to Physical again. This is due to the move being Normal-type in Generation I, Dark-type in Generation II and III, and classified as a Physical move in Generation IV.
