Primeape has a round body covered in whitish, messy fur. Primeape's arms and legs are colored brown. Primeape has metal shackles on its wrists and ankles; this is probably indicative of a method of training with weights. The forepaws seem to resemble boxing gloves, alluding to its nature as a Template:Type2Pokémon.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Primeape's abilities are similar to those of its pre-evolution, Mankey, only stronger. Since Primeape is a fully evolved Pokémon, it is capable of using Hyper Beam and Giga Impact.
Behavior
Primeape are easily angered. Even the slightest glance of eye contact will make it furious. A Primeape will chase anyone that makes it upset and won't give up until it catches it quarry.
In A Tyrogue Full of Trouble, a Primeape was causing problems for a small town along with its pre-evolution and a Tyrogue. A trainer named Kiyo was able to capture the Tyrogue, and the Mankey and Primeape joined up with him.
When Primeape becomes furious, its blood circulation is boosted. In turn, its muscles are made even stronger. However, it also becomes much less intelligent at the same time.

It is capable of learning Iron Tail despite not having a visible tail. This may likely be due to the fact that Mankey (its pre-evolution) has a tail.
Every sprite, anime appearance and artwork of Primeape always shows it having an agitated blood vessel mark.
Its Platinum sprite is almost the same as its Diamond/Pearl sprite, only with a bigger nose.
Origin
Considering its pig-like nose, its coloring, and tendency to fly into a rage if eye contact is made, Primeape has much in common with baboons.
Name origin
Primeape's name may be a combination of prime and ape. It is also likely that its name is a play on the word primate. Its Japanese name can be taken to mean 怒り猿, angry monkey.
