Munchlax (Japanese: ゴンベ Gonbe) is a Normal-type Pokémon. It was the first Generation IV Pokémon to be revealed to the public, in May 2004.

Munchlax's height is 0.6 meters (1'11"), and its weight is 105.0 kilograms (231.5 lbs).

It has been announced that Munchlax can learn Swallow. It is currently unknown if it can learn Stockpile or Spit Up, two related moves.

Munchlax evolves into Snorlax.

Name origin

Munchlax's name is a combination of munch, to chew on food, and relax. Its Japanese name is likely a combination of Snorlax's Japanese name, Kabigon, and baby.

Anime Info

Munchlax first appeared in Destiny Deoxys. May currently owns a Munchlax, who appears in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.

Location

Munchlax can be seen in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness occasionally eating all the Pokésnacks you placed in a Pokéspot. If it does this, the Munchlax's trainer, in Gateon Port, will give you 10 more Pokésnacks.
