Trivia

  • This episode aired exactly one year and one day from its Japanese airing.
  • The English title to this episode is based on the saying One Trick Pony.

Errors

  • In the beginning of the episode, Ash battled a female trainer with a Smoochum with the nickname Josephine. Later, when Pikachu attacks the Smoochum, it can be heard saying "Jo", part of its nickname, rather than its name.
  • When Blastoise gets attacked by Pikachu's Thunderbolt, Jessie commands it to use Withdraw and this move protects Blastoise from being hurt. However, Thunderbolt is a special move in all generations and using a Defense-raising move could not protect from it.
