Barlow (Japanese: バロウ Barrow) is the muscle-bound leader of the Vientown ranger base and a graduate of the Ranger School. He is notably the first black Pokémon character with a prominent role. His partner is a Makuhita.
Although he looks tough, he'd prefer Big Bertha to carry most heavy objects. He also might be afraid of water, as he prefers not to go with the main character on the Puel Sea mission. He is unique among rangers with the fact he will do a Target Clear without a Pokémon, but rather use brute force while yelling "TARGET CLEAR!", even calling it his trademark field move in Operation Brighton. This is first seen after the player rescues him on Team Dim Sun's Cargo Ship, where he crashes through locked doors.
Trivia
- Barlow is the only Ranger in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia who has a defeat pose other than the player character.
