Victreebel has the same shape as Weepinbell, only upside-down. There are four sharp teeth in Victreebel's mouth. Victreebel has a leaf covering its mouth that has a long, brown vine with a yellow tip growing out of it.

Victreebel lures prey into its mouth with sweet-smelling scents, then clamps down, trapping it.
Behavior
They can be found in small groups and are highly territorial. At the depths of the most dangerous jungles Victreebel live in huge colonies, and few Pokémon enter their territory and live to tell the tale. Victreebel horde food, usually small birds and rodents, and collect Leaf Stones to perform evolution rituals at night to help Weepinbell become more Victreebel.
Victreebel live in forests, as well as tropical jungles and swamps where the ground is rich in nutrients. They can also occasionally be found in caves, near sources of underground water.
It uses an incredibly sweet-smelling honey to attract bugs, and sometimes larger prey, ranging from small rodents to creatures almost as large as themselves. The prey is then swallowed whole and is slowly digested by powerful acids strong enough to melt steel.
James had two separate Victreebel, both of which evolved from a Weepinbell. When the second Weepinbell evolved, both Victreebel fell in love with each other and ran away from James, never to return.
In the manga
In chapter 22 of the pokemon specialRed was kidnapped by a Victreebel into a hidden Victreebel colony in the Safari Zone, where Victreebel wanted to use Red as food for its youngsters. Red managed to escape and caught Victreebel.
Crystal from Pokémon Special manages to catch a Victreebel in her quest to fill the Pokédex. During the fight, Elm's Chikorita comes looking for Crystal, prompting Victreebel to sneakily use Chikorita as a living shield to defend itself from Arcanine's Template:Type2 attacks.

Because the game only allows for ten characters to make up a Pokémon's name, Victreebel's name only has one L. This problem also affects Feraligatr.
Its green spots do not appear on its Generation II and III backsprites.
In its Pokémon Red, Green, (Japanese) Blue sprites, Victreebel had dozens of smaller dots on its body. This seems to have been dropped for fewer, larger dots.
Origin
Victreebel and its pre-evolutions may be based upon carnivorous pitcher plants.
Name origin
Victreebel's name seems to be be a combination of bell, referring to its bell-like shape, and victory. The two E's in its name could also come from the word tree. Its Japanese name is based on 靫葛 utsubokazura, or "pitcher plant". It may also contain the Japanese 壷 tsubo, meaning jar, or ポット, pot, referring to its shape.
In other languages
German: Sarzenia - Inspired by Sarracenia, a major genus of North American pitcher plants. Interestingly, Victreebel much more closely resembles a South-East-Asian Nepenthes pitcher plant, making this name somewhat of a misnomer.
French: Empiflor - May come from Empereur (emperor), but it is much more like the verb empifrer (to eat with excess) and flora.
