Ash's Age

Hey! I just found out this! Do you remember the Pokemon short where Ash was celebrating the day he and pikachu first met? he was ten back then! A year has past so Ash must be over eleven years old!! Haaaa! - unsigned comment from Pokefreak (talk • contribs)

I wonder if i should tell someone... To change 10 to 11+. Im new here is there anyway i can do that? i saw somewhere i shouldn't post that but there is no way to prove me wrong! - unsigned comment from Pokefreak (talk • contribs)

I think that the movies, including the Pikachu mini-movies, aren't considered canon in this sense and so cannot be used as exact information. Sure, we know that he was eleven at that day, but it's impossible to indicate in any other way than "Eleven (as of PK07)", and that doesn't give any information since the shorts cannot be given an exact spot on the anime episode timeline (and the episodes are the core of the anime canon).

Plus, was it mentioned that how many years had passed? If not, "Over eleven" would sound quite vague to me. There is a piece of trivia stating the special meaning of that day on the short's page already, but it doesn't mention anything about how many years had passed (and I haven't watched the short in question for a long time).
