The Walt Disney Company is an American media and entertainment corporation formed by brothers Walt and Roy O. Disney on October 16, 1923.

Disney owns the Miramax film studio, owners of the American rights to the Pokémon movies Celebi: Voice of the Forest, Pokémon Heroes, Jirachi: Wish Maker, and Destiny Deoxys, the Toon Disney cable channel, which occasionally showed those four Pokémon movies and the Jetix (soon to be rebranded as Disney XD) family of cable channels/programming blocks (the British version of which shows Pokémon Diamond & Pearl: Battle Dimension).

In terms of non-Pokémon anime, Disney also holds the outside-of-Japan worldwide rights to the majority of the films of noted anime studio Studio Ghibli.
