There are a variety of trades that can be made with NPC Trainers within the Pokémon games. These are usually for Pokémon that are difficult to obtain, unavailable at the point the player has reached, or for Pokémon that are unobtainable through another method. All Pokémon received from an in-game trade will be at the same level as the Pokémon sent, and—like externally traded Pokémon—receive boosted experience points in battles. The following is a list of all in-game trades in all generations.
