GB Player, Pokémon Past Archive
Is the information you added here correct? I'm sure that Prof. Oak's lab theme isn't played, even though I think it was purposely changed, since it isn't the first time a change like this is made. The motives behind the opening and closing themes are perfectly reasonable and comprehensible. But Team Rocket's GBP themes don't play when the item is activated? Are you sure of that? Has anyone fought any of the Rockets using it? Pokemon lover 18:01, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- Referring to Prof. Oak's lab theme -- sorry, my fault for not clarifying. When I said "Professor Oak's theme," I meant the song that plays the first time you encounter him at Mr. Pokémon's house. I'll edit that in when I get the chance. On the subject of Team Rocket's themes, it's impossible to encounter any Rockets with the GB Player because you only get it after obtaining all 16 badges, which entails defeating the last Rocket in the game at Nugget Bridge. It might be possible that it plays during the Giovanni scenario with the event Celebi, but I don't have any way of checking that. All in all, I'm reasonably sure what I put is right. Thanks for your concern, though. Kyunji 19:10, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- About Prof. Oak's themes, neither are played so it's not that relevant. Thanks for clearing it up, though. ;-) As for the Rockets' themes, I'm pretty sure that they have GBP equivalents but cannot be played to the late availability of the item, at least during normal gameplay. The only way to prove you are correct is to hack the game from the very beginning and play through it with the GB Player on, which is something I'm trying to achieve. =P Pokemon lover 14:43, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, the Rocket theme (actually, the three themes) are certainly in the game -- they're on the soundtrack, anyway, and I think they all play on the Pokémon Past Archive. They might even play if you hack the GB Player in at the right point, but that wouldn't constitute "normal gameplay" -- hence my addition to the trivia. I am curious as to whether the tracks you aren't supposed to hear with the GB Player will work if you hack it in, though. Let me know if you have success in testing that.
