I think the Bird type was the beta name for Flying-type because the person that greets you at the Vermillion City Gym in Pokémon Red and Blue cautions you that "Bird and Water types do poorly against Electric types". No, that wasn't a typo, he says "Bird" and not "Flying". See this if think I'm lying.[1]--Pokencyclopedia 02:33, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
