Welcome to the Pokémon TCG: XY—Generations Elite Trainer Box!
The first section gives a brief introduction of the Generations expansion, detailing what the Elite Trainer Box contains, as well as a short overview of what is covered in the expansion.
New Pokémon-EX-including an exclusive Shaymin-EX!
Continuing the growth of Pokémon-EX in the Pokémon TCG, this set includes 16 of these amazing Pokémon—a huge range of types and powers, plus many with full-art variants.
The Pokémon-EX in the Generations expansion include Venusaur-EX, Mega Venusaur-EX, Leafeon-EX, Charizard-EX, Mega Charizard-EX, Ninetales-EX, Blastoise-EX, Mega Blastoise-EX, Vaporeon-EX, Jolteon-EX, Meowstic-EX, Golem-EX, Flareon-EX, Sylveon-EX, Gardevoir-EX, and Mega Gardevoir-EX.
In addition, there's a card included in this Generations Elite Trainer Box that is not available anywhere else: It's a special Shaymin-EX promo card, and you're one of the lucky people to have once. Nice!
The Radiant Collection
There's a special subset of cards within the Generations expansion: cards that show many sides of the Pokémon. The illustrations of Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard show a Pokémon and its trainer meeting new challenges, growing together as friends, and becoming a powerful team.
Cards in the Radiant Collection subset feature colorful charms along the left border, and art with hidden stores and a high cuteness factor. Each such card has RC in both its card number and the set number—for instance, Chikorita is RC1/RC32,and the full-art Sylveon-EX is RC32/RC32. How many cards do you have from the Radiant Collection?
Generations Three New Combos!
Every expansion brings new options to the game! Here are some combos that range from silly fun to stomping good times.
Confused and Victorious:
Imakuni? (63/83) is a pretty unusual card, and it's rare that confusing your own Pokémon helps you win a game. But check this out: Machamp-EX (XY—Ancient Origins, 37/98) definitely benefits from Imakuni?, because its Crazy Hammer attack does extra damage whenever it's affected by a Special Condition. So make your own Pokémon Confused and hope the attack goes through—if it does, it hits for 160 damage!
Camerupt Speedup:
Flareon-EX should team up with Team Magma's Camerupt (Double Crisis, 2/34) more often! Flareon-EX's Blaze Ball attack deals 50 damage plus 20 more for each Energy attached to it. Use Team Magma's Camerupt to recover that Energy from the discard pile, and then Flareon-EX's Flash Fire Ability to move the Energy to itself. You'll have Blaze Ball ready to go in no time! For extra Energy help, our old pal Blacksmith (XY—Flashfire, 88/106) can speed things up as well.
Golem Protection:
Golem-EX's Megaton Fall attack does a huge amount of damage to the other guy, but it has a nasty drawback of damaging itself. Use Protection Cube (XY—Flashfire, 95/106) to prevent that self-damage and keep Golem-EX battling!
New Energy Cards
Energy cards tend to keep the same look from one expansion to the next. But with this Elite Trainer Box, you get a stack of new style basic Energy cards that are exclusive to the Pokémon TCG: Generations expansion! Check them out in this set, and watch for foil versions in Generations booster packs.
Awesome Full-Art Cards!
In addition to those new combos, you'll find new full-art cards of some amazing Pokémon in Generations! These include Articuno, Zapdos, and the most famous Pokémon of all, Pikachu!
Five Super Trainer Cards
The Generations expansion includes a lot of interesting Item and Supporter cards, ready to sharpen your game! Here are five of the most interesting.
