Release information
This card was included in the Paradox Rift expansion, first released in the Japanese Raging Surf subset.
In Japan, this card was reprinted as a Mirage Holofoil SV-P Promotional card and was one of the participation prizes given for entering regional Champions League events held during the 2023-24 season, beginning with the 2024 Yokohama Champions League held at the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall from September 9 to 10, 2023. Participants in each Champions League event receive this card along with a random promotional Basic Energy card.[1][2]
The Master League tournaments at each Champions League meeting were live-streamed on video platforms Niconico and YouTube, during which this card could be won through Twitter campaigns. Viewers wishing to enter the campaign were required to follow the Twitter accounts of the official Pokémon Card Channel and its presenters Raichu Umekawa, Nanapple, Kucheat Takeuchi, and Yopifoot, and tweet messages of support, using the hashtag #ポケカCL2024横浜予選 (Pokéca CL2024 Preliminary Round) for the first day broadcast and #ポケカCL2024横浜本戦 (Pokéca CL2024 Main Battle) for the second day broadcast. Twenty winners were selected from each draw, each of which received a copy of the Gimmighoul participant promo and one random Basic Energy participant promo.[3]
The SV-P Promotional print has the "Pokémon Trading Card Game Championships Series 2024" stamp on the bottom right corner of the artwork.
Trivia
This card's SV-P Promotional print alludes to Gimmighoul's association with the number 999, as it is numbered 099/SV-P and was distributed beginning September 9 (9/9), 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
