Release information
This card was released as a Cosmos Holofoil XY Black Star Promotional card in the Roaring Skies Single Pack Blisters. In Japan, it was one of the XY-P Promotional cards made available in a twelve card promotional pack awarded to those who participated in the Pokémon Card Gym tournaments from the month of October 2014 through the month of November 2014. It was available again, this time as part of a sixteen card promotional pack, awarded to participants of Pokémon Card Gym tournaments from November 2016 to January 2017. This print features the Pokémon Card Gym logo.
Trivia
The only Helioptile cards available were rotated in the 2016-17 Standard format, making this an orphaned card during the format. This format later included a new Helioptile card, making this card no longer orphaned.
Origin
Dry Skin is an Ability in the Pokémon games that Heliolisk can have. Hyper Beam is a move in the Pokémon games that Heliolisk can learn via TM15. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon X.
