Release information
This card was first released in the English XY Trainer Kit: Latias & Latios. It was released in Japan as one of the gifts available as part of the Hoopa's Appearance~! Campaign, which began in participating stores on June 20, 2015 and ran for a limited time. Customers who purchased ¥500 worth of eligible goods could draw a slip from an Appearance Box, which detailed their prize. Possible prizes included one of four XY-P Promotional cards, one of two Trophy Pokémon Tretta, a Steelixite Mega Stone for use with the interactive Pokémon Mega Ring, or a Shiny Rayquaza Moncollé figure. The Japanese print has the Hoopa's Appearance~! Campaign logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork.
It was later reprinted with new artwork by the same artist as an English XY Black Star Promotional card included in July 2015's Mega Latios Collection. The Japanese version of this card was later available as an XY-P Promotional card, and was given to those who participated in Beginner's Classroom or Experience Battle events held at Pokémon Circles present at University Festivals across Japan. Participating venues and the dates on which the cards were available included the 56th New Festival, held at Niigata University, Niigata on October 17, 2015; the 67th Tohoku University Festival, held at Tohoku University, Sendai between October 30 and November 1, 2015; the Aoyama Festival, held at Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo on October 31 and November 1, 2015; the 131st Meiji Festival, held at Meiji University, Tokyo on November 1 and 2, 2015; and the Soho Festival, held at the University of Tsukuba, Tsukuba on November 8, 2015.
