Release information
In Japan, this card was available as a Holofoil SM-P Promotional card in the Pikachu SM2 Special Set starting March 17, 2017. It could only be purchased at Pokémon Centers, Pokémon Stores, and store chains owned by Yamada Denki. It was released in English on April 21, 2017, in the Alolan Raichu Half Deck of the Sun & Moon Trainer Kit: Lycanroc & Alolan Raichu. A Cosmos Holofoil reprint was one of the SM Black Star Promos included in the Shining Legends Collector Chest released November 17, 2017. It was reprinted in Japan as another Holofoil SM-P Promotional card with a different collection number, available as part of a Pokémon Card Friendly Shop campaign, which began on December 8, 2017. Participating stores designated Pokémon Card Friendly Shops gave this card to customers who purchased at least ¥1,500 worth of eligible Pokémon TCG products. The campaign ran for as long as stock lasted. This print features the Pokémon Card Friendly Shop campaign logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork. The SM Black Star Promo received a Sequin Holo variant, available in General Mills Sun & Moon Mini Packs included in Fruit Roll-Ups and Pokémon Fruit Flavored Snacks.
