Starters =/= Capture
"Scorbunny's capture marks the first time a main character gets a new Pokémon before Ash in an anime saga." How is that not true? I wasn't talking about starter, I was talking about catches. Go had the option of having all three of Kanto and chose none, Always, the first capture of a region was reserved for Ash. Pidove came before Woobat was revealed, Froakie came in the second episode, Misty came to catch something there in episode 20, Starly came in the beginning, Swellow in the fourth episode, SM all came to have their newest Poké captured well after. If the subject is Starter Ash is still ahead, why well, err ... Pikachu?
About May and Dawn Torchic and Piplup were GIVEN TO THEM !!! The key word is GIVEN !!! Scorbunny has been CAPTURED !!! It could be a Bunnelby or Buneary there, being one of Galar's starters is just a "coincidence" of plot.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 23:21, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Did you miss what you said about Woobat? Look back at the episode and you'll see that it was caught before Pidove, making your trivia point invalid.--Rahl (talk) 00:20, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
- Woobat was captured off screen, the revelation that he was captured came after Ash captured Pidove(which was caught on the scene, important to point out). I saw the episode before comparing it. It's even worth mentioning that Woobat came at a time when Jessie was a recurring character, no longer a main character. And not only that, when I talk about capture between the main characters, obviously I'm talking about those who travel with Ash. This season, Koharu has appeared in more episodes than Team Rocket so far. All seasons, all catches of a new anime saga were from Ash first (You can even put the Orange League phase on this cake if you want).--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 23:46, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Team Rocket have always been main characters despite not showing up in every episode. Look at Alola, where every main character but Ash could be absent. And whether or not Woobat was shown on screen, we know it was caught before Pidove.--Rahl (talk) 01:05, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
- Please don't edit war, Hikaru Wazana. If you don't agree with an edit, take it to the talk page but do not add back what was removed afterwards. It doesn't matter if Woobat was shown to have been caught after Pidove was caught, it was still caught before Pidove, and Team Rocket are always main characters. And the wording you used was "gets a new Pokémon" not "catches a new Pokémon", and being given a starter is still "getting" a Pokémon. Thus, May and Dawn "got" a new Pokémon before Ash did.--ForceFire 05:07, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Honestly, did anyone forget that Delia left Mimey with Ash BEFORE Goh caught Scorbunny? So Ash was the first one to get a Pokemon in this series. Also, did you forget that Gary's Squirtle was given to him before Ash got Pikachu?
