Why can't the possible inspiration be mentioned? Copyrighted characters are used as inspiration for others ALL THE TIME. Can you give a reason other than "because the almighty rules" or "because I said so." Zurqoxn (talk) 15:09, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

Seconding. This question needs to be answered.--Rocket Grunt 15:33, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
Where is the rule even mentioned? I can't find it anywhere on the Bulbapedia policies. Zurqoxn (talk) 15:43, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
Because copyrighted property is protected by copyright. Copyright is a fickle thing. Unless you can get a source that explicitly states the creators created something based off a copyrighted character, we simply will not use copyrighted characters.--ForceFire 16:21, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
Again, that's an excuse not a reason. We are not lawyers, we can't proof something was directly based on something, but we can notice similarities. Even if these inspirations were proven to be the case it wouldn't be OUR fault and I don't think anything would change for Pokemon Company legally either, there are millions of people who could make the same claim. If that were the case for Pokemon, they would've already dealt with it.--Rocket Grunt 17:19, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

I've re-added it after a staff discussion. Referencing the franchise is fine, but not a specific character, which was my original argument. People kept mentioning and using specific riders, rather than referring to just the franchise.--ForceFire 12:43, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Perfect compromise. Zurqoxn (talk) 15:29, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Possible name origin

Since it's a Dark-type, I think it might be named after the Norse god Loki. --Kahran042 (talk) 15:49, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
