By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

"Upper" Version

We've decided to go ahead and reverse your edits to the game articles regarding "upper" games. I wanted to take a moment to discuss and explain the reason for this.

We did find this interview using the term and realize this is where the term came from. Our concern with using the term is that the term is merely something that they use internally, and not something that has been announced or is given widespread use. In the future, if the term does gain widespread following, and it starts to appear as a regular term in game guides and the like, then it may be something we may move to in the future. In the present climate, and for the sake of article readability, we have determined that it's best mentioned at the core series page as a term that they use, and no where else at this time. I hope you understand. =)

With that said, it's still important that we consistently describe the relationship of a third game or sequel. It's more important that we make sure the same term is used consistently for the same type of game (for instance, don't call Emerald a "third game" and call Platinum a "solitary game" as they are the same type of game, hence they need the same term). If you do find inconsistencies in that, you are welcome to correct them if appropriate. CycloneGU (talk) 02:11, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
