By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

BW collection

How do you know that's what it is going to be, other than assumptions. MaverickNate 22:09, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Click this link: [1]. Here, I explain why those changes make sense. If you don't believe my "assumptions" (which are based on facts envolving the already confirmed cards and the national dex), you can wait until the set comes out and see for yourself.--Metalizard 23:00, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Mamanbou is confirmed for white. The dex entry is from white, so it goes in white collection. And, I'm fine with your assumptions, because I was working on that too, and that was what the list was before. I just didn't think about it long enough to fit everything in, which you did. So, thanks! MaverickNate 23:42, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok, good. But anyway, is Bachuru and Denchura already confirmed to be #18 & #19? If not, the last pokémon may not be furijio. Like I said in my pokébeach topic, if they deciced to include another electric pokémon, the last gap could be Maggyo instead of Furijio.--Metalizard 03:05, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Changes button... Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! ----Pokemaster97 19:07, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

I know right? It's just that I was editing something and only after I clicked the save button I noticed that I edited the wrong pokémon card rarity... Isn't there a way to delete what we did wrong? Metalizard 20:35, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Plasma!

I had a feeling you would contact me before I had the time to contact you! lol. I wanted to get to you first about why I did what I did. You and I both know those cards are there. However, we don't know those cards are there. As much as I want them to be on that list, it still is a prediction and speculation that they will be at those numbers and in the set. (Everything else listed can be taken back to a specific official source where it was mentioned to be in the set.) Unfortunately, evolutions are not enough evidence for being in the expansion (blame BLW Timburr and Gurdurr, NVI Gigalith, NXD Ferroseed and Pidove, DEX Vullaby and Vanillite, etc etc). It is obvious that the set will only contain Spiral Force, Thunder Knuckle, and the Team Plasma Battle Gift Set (I've already did the numbers and have a set list I believe will be 100% accurate). We just need to wait for those cards to be officially revealed to be there. I know it's kind of dumb, but I'm just trying to follow Bulbapedia policy about only having fact and no speculation, no matter how obvious it may be.

On another note, I wanted to thank you with all your hard work on the Ultra Rare pages. Having to focus my time and effort on other things (like translating all of Megalo Cannon and whatnot) means that I sometimes forget about those lists, or don't have the time to do them. I do really appreciate having other TCG editors and people willing to step up when they see mistakes, or see that new information hasn't been posted yet. It makes everything so much easier and better, so thank you very very much!! =] MaverickNate 01:41, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

We can use evolutions as evidence for Japanese expansions and put them in, but not English. (The Japanese haven't had a Pokémon without any of its evolutions in a looong while, maybe not ALL of them, but at least one full line, like Ralts-Kirlia-Gardevoir, or Snorunt-Glalie.) And, to answer your questions about the Ultra Rare pages, I've actually been thinking about that for a while. I do now believe the best course of action would be switching to a new template list style that separates the two languages out in a chronological sortable list, much like the Supporter card, Stadium card, and Item card pages. I think that would solve the issues of certain cards being Secret in Japan, but not for us. And chronological lists are easier to deal with, as any new entries just go straight at the bottom. I'll have to make this new template, so if you'd like, I can inform you when I do (which should be within the week) if you'd like to be the one to update the pages. MaverickNate 05:29, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
Well, this is where we decide what is more important for those pages to portray. Absolutely, all of the "Name (TCG)" pages, like Arceus, Chimchar and Zorua should stay the way they are. (I had the big block template designed specifically for these pages, and then another person went around adding it to a bunch of other pages that this table wasn't intended for. Then, other people saw this and thought it was the standard.) Those "Name (TCG)" pages represent how each card has been released throughout the TCG's history, and how the Japanese and English releases relate to one another. My thinking for the Ultra Rare pages was that the lists would portray what cards have actually been released. The Category pages like this (which could probably be promoted more and made more relevant), would be the ones leaving out all the reprints and be a straightforward list of all the different cards with exclusive text. IDK. I'm not completely sure what would be best here. There are certainly benefits and negatives to both. What do you think each page should do? MaverickNate 18:43, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
I think I've come up with a good solution. Things like Pokémon-EX and Pokémon LV.X should remain as they are. Secret cards should use the templates from Item cards and whatnot. My idea is that cards that won't change their status as they translate into other languages should get the big block table. Reshiram-EX isn't going to not be a Pokémon-EX simply because is was released in English. However, things that are sort of dependent on what language they are released in, like Secret cards, should get the separate list templates. Full Art Reshiram being a Japanese Secret has no bearing on whether or not it is a secret in english. Time Space Distortion not being a Secret in Japanese has no bearing on the fact that it was a Secret in English. Secret cards being the way they are, they is no relation between the two languages, so the big block table featured on things like Pokémon-EX and Arceus (TCG) is inappropriate for that page. Get what I'm saying? MaverickNate 20:00, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
Everything you said is fine. Let's leave off on Retro Card for now, but for Delta Species, the column for the "regular" type of the Pokémon can be gotten rid of. MaverickNate 06:39, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Shiny Magikarp

Would you be willing to get an image of the Shiny Magikarp promo from PTCGO? I can't seem to get the program to load for me. MaverickNate 04:05, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Honestly, I didn't actually see the card in the PTCGO and I don't even have the program. I saw the image here but they take those images from PTCGO. Metalizard (talk) 04:50, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
You responded really quick! Thank you! (I also managed to get the program to work so uploaded our own from PTCGO, so we're good with this =p). I also appreciate you cleaning up the recent set pages. I only just saw the message on the talk page about locking the pages and realized something had to change. So, just thank you MaverickNate 00:32, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

Release info

Why're you adding release information sections to cards that haven't been reprinted? glikglak 12:15, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Well, I noticed most of the cards that have not been reprinted do not have release information indeed but then I saw others that do. I wasn't sure if it was a new standard or not, but since I was updating those cards' pages I decided to add that information, just in case. If I did wrong, I apologize and I won't do it again but I would like to know if we're actually supposed to add release information in those cases or not so I don't make the same mistake in the future. Metalizard (talk) 22:19, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
Release info's for when the card has reprints (or simultaneous alt prints, like EX Full Arts), alternate versions (i.e. miscellaneous promos), or was initially released as a promo (since the infobox won't give any details in that regard). glikglak 22:43, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Garchomp-EX Promo

Hey,just noticed that you moved the page Garchomp-EX (XY-P Promo) to Garchomp-EX (XY-P Promo 245), leaving a double-redirect from Garchomp-EX (XY-P Promo 140). Since 245 is a reprint, the information should be on the page for 140. If you could do that and fix the redirects, that would be great. Thanks! RetroKitty 19:13, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

Code of conduct

In light of a recent message you left another user, I'd like to remind you of Bulbapedia's code of conduct, in particular, the summary at the top: simply, "Be nice." Please try to keep this policy in mind when dealing with other users in the future. Tiddlywinks (talk) 23:11, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Source?

I noticed a lot of edits at Evolutions (TCG), and it seems strange since there are an article published elsewhere today that is not an official source. Can you please tell me what you are sourcing for your edits? CycloneGU (talk) 01:51, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

Pokémon-GX

Would you be willing to create the Pokémon-GX page? I enjoy your knowledge level and I think you could do a good job. Let me know! Thank you. MaverickNate 05:26, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for the consideration. Actually, I have wanted to create the page already. The only reason why I didn't do it is because I'm not sure on how to describe the card's design/layout very well as English is not my native language. Back when I created the Pokémon BREAK page, BREAK cards were easy to describe so I went for it. Still, yes, I want to do the page. I'll try to create it later today. Then, you can see if there's anything that needs a better wording. Is that okay? Metalizard (talk) 19:15, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Marking pages for deletion

If you want to mark pages for deletion, add {{delete}} to the page rather than blanking it. Thank you.--ForceFire 04:34, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I didn't know it could be done that way. I'll be sure to do that from now on, thanks. Metalizard (talk) 17:01, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
