==Plot==
{{CCP|Haruka}} enters {{TP|Haruka|Torchic}} in a {{OBP|Cute|condition}}ness {{pkmn|Contest}}, where she competes against a {{p|Plusle}} and a {{p|Minun}}. {{TP|Kanata|Poochyena}} thinks that Torchic should not have entered, and when Haruka asks why, he explains that the two {{pkmn|category|Cheering Pokémon}} often compete in Pokémon Contests and are invincible.

During the competition, Plusle and Minun prove to be very formidable opponents indeed. The two are popular among the audience in the [[Contest Hall|hall]], which makes Torchic realize that she has to step up her game. In the first turn in the [[Appeal|Appeals Round]], she uses {{m|Sand Attack}}, and both Poochyena and Mightyena comment that the move is not cute enough.

Plusle asks Torchic if she is competing for the first time in a Pokémon Contest, and as she says yes, Minun comments that it thought so after seeing the move she used. Minun then uses {{m|Protect}} while Plusle uses {{m|Rest}}, leaving the audience very impressed as Torchic starts thinking she will lose the competition at this rate. Mightyena cheers for Torchic and tells her to do her best.

In the following turn, Torchic uses {{m|Frustration}} and Poochyena wonders if that is even a {{cat|Cute moves|Cute move}}, to which Haruka says that it is and is worth one Appeal Point. Torchic fails to stand out once more and Minun says that Plusle is its closest rival. Plusle uses {{m|Growl}} and Minun uses {{m|Attract}} as Poochyena comments that there is no way for Torchic to win.

The results are announced and it is revealed that Plusle won the Cuteness Contest with 34 votes, while Minun got second place with 32 votes. Torchic ends up in third place with only two votes. Torchic becomes sad and Haruka comforts her. Mightyena tells her that it was only her first time competing, and that he thought she was cute and so he voted her.

Torchic thanks Haruka for the other vote she received, and Haruka reveals that she did not get to vote. {{MPJ|Pikachu}} and {{MPJ|Clefairy}} did not cast their votes either and Torchic turns to Poochyena. He reveals that he voted for her only because she was trying so hard as Torchic giggles. Torchic thinks to herself that she may have lost her first Pokémon Contest, but she will do better next time.
