Trivia

  • The dot-code data for Cyndaquil allows for the use of a "Cynda" sound for the Melody Box. The dot-code data for this card, on the other hand, allows for the use of a "Wani" (as opposed to "Toto") sound for the Melody Box. One of these dot-codes is an error, although it is unknown which one it is.
    • If the dot-code data for this card is not wrong, then it may be in reference to Wani-Wani, Marina's Feraligatr, which evolved from a Totodile. It should be noted, however, that the card's first USA release was nearly three years before the dub's UK debut of The Legend of Thunder!.

Origin

Surf is a move in the Pokémon games that Totodile can learn via HM. Double Scratch is a variation on Scratch, which Totodile can also learn.
