The Battle Box is a built in feature of Pokémon Black and White and allows the user to compete with six, user-determined, Pokémon over the Pokémon Global Link and may also be accessed for choosing Pokémon to participate in the Battle Subway. The user may access the Battle Box through the PC. If a Pokémon is in the Battle Box, it has to be taken out for it to be put in the party. Once the user of the Battle Box registers their Pokémon team for a competition such as the Pokémon championships, they are unable to change their Battle Box.

While using infrared via the C-Gear, if the battle option is chosen, the player is given the option to either use their party Pokémon or the Pokémon in their Battle Box.
