Dayton (Japanese: ダイキ Daiki) is a character of the day from the episode Takin' it on the Chinchou.
He and his father were in charge of the annual Chinchou parade in Blue Lagoon. With his own Chinchou, Bright, leading the way, Dayton journeyed with Ash so they could reach the shore. While heading there, Dayton fell off the side of a mountain. Bright, along with the other Chinchou, detected where he was by using their antennae.
The two finally reached the shore, but Team Rocket attempted to steal all of the Chinchou. Ash had a hard time freeing them with Pikachu and his other Pokémon, but Dayton had Bright and the other Chinchou use Spark to set themselves free from the cage. In the process, Team Rocket was sent blasting off.
Dayton approached Bright and wished him good luck on his journey to the sea. Bright then left his Trainer for a life in the seas of the Whirl Islands.

Dayton's Chinchou Bright (Jp: ブライト Bright) was leading the Blue Lagoon annual Chinchou parade. Misty attempted to capture it thinking it was a wild Pokémon, Dayton chases after it, but Ash corners it but is zapped. Later the festival begins and Bright leads the Chinchou through the town. Their first stop comes upon a familiar looking rope-bridge. Bright doesn't really want to go but Dayton encourages him and they start off. Suddenly Team Rocket appears but this time their gizmo does not work and Pikachu send them blasting off.
Through the night the Chinchou walk and get very tied, but Ash sends out Totodile and refreshes them. They come to the mountains with a narrow path. Suddenly Dayton trips and falls, the group shout but there is no answer. The Chinchou decide to wals down the valley where they find Dayton safe. The sun rises and they finally reach the beach, but suddenly Team Rocket grab all the Chinchou. In the end all the Chinchou work together and break the net sending Team Rocket blasting off once again.
The time comes when Dayton has to release Chinchou, at first Dayton does not want bright to go but in the end a wave sweeps Bright and its group into the ocean.
Chiunchou's known moves are Spark, Flash, and Thunder Wave.
