Location of Hamlin Island in the Orange Islands |
Hamlin Island (Japanese: デコポン島 Dekopon Island) is the northernmost island in the Orange Archipelago. Because of its proximity, it serves as a gateway to the Kanto region. A ferry carries passengers between Pallet Town and a tiny island connected by a bridge to Hamlin Island. In The Underground Round Up, when the smaller island was overun with Electrode, Diglett Rancher Poncho was called in to get rid of the Electrode, but was later fired due to his Electrode-friendly method taking too long and not cost-effective. Team Rocket were next in line to round up the Electrode. When Team Rocket were going to run over Togepi, Pikachu, and a Voltorb, Poncho stepped in and sent out his Dugtrio. The Electrode were eventually relocated to the open area in the middle of the larger island.
