History

Gabite's rivalry with Dawn's Pachirisu

Gabite's first appearance was in Another One Gabites the Dust!, alongside her Trainer, Ursula. Gabite appears to share Ursula's bad attitude, happily stepping on Dawn's Pachirisu's Poffin and then developing a rivalry with it similar to the one between Dawn and Ursula. Gabite was present when Ursula was knocked out of the Wallace Cup.

During the Chocovine Contest, Gabite knocked Jessie out of the Contest by defeating Carnivine and then faced Pachirisu in the final. Gabite completely dominated the first half of the battle, however Dawn was able to win by whittling down Gabite's points by having Pachirisu dodge Gabite's attacks.

It appeared again in Yes in Dee Dee, It's Dawn! in the appeal of the Daybreak City Contest with Jigglypuff, and thanks to the use of moves like Sand Tomb and Gyro Ball, they help Ursula to pass the Appeal Round.

Gabite was used alongside Ursula's newly-evolved Flareon in Opposites Interact!, for the Top 32 battle round of the Sinnoh Grand Festival, another time against Dawn, her Pachirisu and Mamoswine. Gabite and Flareon seemed like they were going to win for most of the battle, however, Dawn perfected her Ice Chandelier combination and defeated them both.

The effects on Mamoswine
  • Scary Face Sandstorm First used in Opposites Interact! Gabite uses Sandstorm to create a cyclone. Flareon then uses Scary Face in the eye of the cyclone to make a frightening image in the sand.
  • Shadow Ball Barrage was first used against Dawn's Mamoswine and Pachirisu in Opposites Interact! Gabite digs a hole, Flareon then jumps in as well and comes up from behind, then Flareon uses Shadow Ball. Or Gabite also surrounds her opponents with Double Team and Flareon uses Shadow Ball rapidly making it hard for the opponents to dodge.
