001Bulbasaur RG.png Due to special coding in place in the article, the artwork featured on this article will change every year on February 27 and September 30 in celebration of the releases of Red and Green in Japan, and Red and Blue in the United States. This will only affect the artwork shown in the infobox. This changes every year, so when the time comes, here to return to the page and change the display.

Jet?

Jet? I've heard it pronounced Pid-gee-aught and Pid-jit, (And Pi-gee-aught and Pi-jit, for that matter) but never anything resembling jet from anyone. --Birdboy2000

You should add your name after writing something in a talk, birdboy. I have also never heard someone ever pronouncing it "jet" o.O --nYoo

I've only heard it called Pid gee ot Never heard it with Jet either. Xanhawk

I've always pronounced it Pid-jet. I think every Pokémon page should really have pronounciations. I would be willing to contribute some as it them in one of my Pokémon books. Anyone else think that this is a good idea? Before I got the book I thought that Ratls was pronounced ratless. :P -Zephy Changes 17:24, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

But there's absolutely no logical reason it would ever be pronounced jet, and no incidence I can remember when it ever was in the anime or games. Removing offending clause. Schreiber 17:50, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

Coloring

Is the schizophrenic coloring of Pidgeot's tail feathers material for the trivia? Examples; all red in FR/LG art, red & yellow in R/G art and all brown in the anime. Also, the sprites from G/S/C mix the pink substitute for red with white, which supports the R/G artwork, where the feathers have more than one color. Nechifor 15 February 2010

Back Sprite

I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right place, I'm brand new here, but the back sprite for Pidgeot in FireRed and LeafGreen isn't the same as in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. It's feathers on it's head are elongated, as they should be. I just noticed this as I was playing this morning and realized it that the sprite didn't match up with what I saw here on Bulbapedia, so I made an account here to point it out, if it hasn't already been. Design origin

I was checking out a Wikipedia page on pigeons, since I wanted to look more into what Pidgeot's design could originate from, and by the looks of it, I'd say Pidgeot's long head feathers could perhaps derive from the Nicobar Pigeon. I'm not sure about this, though, but if anyone agrees with me that it could be the case, and would like to edit it in, please do so. Mutzaki 04:41, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

HeartGold/SoulSilver Sprites

We have the moving sprites for these images, is there a reason they are not being used? If there is no reason, can someone please put them in place of the static ones. CoolDudeAl

Pidgeot's Head Feathers

Does anyone notice that in Pidgeot's Generation III sprites, its feather plumes on its head are significantly shorter than the ones from other sprites?--Chosenwaffle668 20:48, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

You're not really suppose to add trivia to pages these days, especially not sprite trivia. ^-^' Littlmiget123 22:08, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Trivia

I don't think I'm supposed to bother with this trivia stuff right after Black2/White2 have been released, but does anyone else think it's weird that a few of its Pokédex entries (Yellow, Silver, FireRed, SoulSilver) say it can fly about Mach-2 speeds, which is twice the speed of sound? Or is this just filed under "anime physics" and "Nintendo logic?" Dimenticare (talk) 02:48, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

That note is already included in the Special Abilities section of Biology. Other incredible claims, such as Larvitar eating a mountain's worth of earth and Ponyta being able to leap over tall buildings, should be considered canon if they appeared as Pokédex information in the games. The rules of the Pokémon world in the anime are different. --IWannaBeTheVeryBest (talk) 06:46, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
