First shiny pokémon
I wouldn't agree on that. Ash's Butterfly fell in love with a alternate coloured butterfly. Voyage 23:08, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Ilex Forest?
According to this article, Noctowl was caught in the Ilex Forest. This seems reasonable, however the article on Ash's Totodile states that Totodile was caught around Route 34 which also seems reasonable.
