J's clients are a number of people behind Pokémon Hunter J's numerous crime sprees. They commission J and her ruthless cronies with the tasks of capturing both wild Pokémon and those already owned by Trainers and having her sell the stolen Pokémon to them.
Their first appearance was in Mutiny in the Bounty in a flashback when Officer Jenny told Ash and his friends about J's crime spree. In the flashback, they showed up when J managed to snag a Ninetales, Kirlia, Teddiursa, Magby, Swampert, and Relicanth. One of the clients tried out the case that contained Teddiursa.
Another set of clients appeared in Ill-Will Hunting where they arrived when J was about to get away with a Shieldon. They tell J that the deal with taking the Shieldon is canceled. As a result, J left the Shieldon behind and withdrew the area with her clients.
Another client appeared in Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! (Part 1) during a heist relating with the Aura Sphere Riolu. He has his henchmen steal the Riolu in a research facility in the pretense of them trying to help it. As the client and his henchmen reveal in the truck the whole plan, Riolu ran off after hearing about it with its Aura.
The particular client reappeared in Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! (Part 2). On a video screen, talking to J after she was successful with catching the Riolu. He met up with J later on and she gave him Riolu. When Ash and his friends arrived, J's client's henchmen stalled Dawn, Brock, Officer Jenny, and Solana while J's client was about to get away with the Aura Sphere Riolu. However, Ash and Kellyn caught up to him by a cave. J's client prevented the two from gaining on him by having his Aggron block the entrance with Rock Smash. Kellyn was able to destroy the cave-ins with a Donphan nearby. With the help of Ash's Aura, the two were able to find J's client. J's client battled Ash and Kellyn with Aggron and was defeated by Pikachu's Volt Tackle, causing Aggron to land onto him. J's client and his henchmen were then arrested by Officer Jenny and the Aura Sphere Riolu was returned to its home in Lucario Kingdom.
