The Mega Evolution Pokédex Shorts (Japanese: マノンのメガシンカ絵日記 Mairin's Mega Evolution Journal) are a series of shorts that introduce mostly Mega-Evolved Pokémon that debuted in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

In the original Japanese version, it originally aired as a post-credits segment of of the anime's XY series in place of Professor Oak's Pokémon Holo Caster. It aired from Battling Into the Hall of Fame! to Facing the Grand Design! (including the delayed An Undersea Place to Call Home!). It was only played during the initial airing of the episodes; all subsequent airings use Professor Oak's Pokémon Holo Caster instead.

In the dub, these segments were aired on the Pokémon TV service.

Structure

The Mega Evolution Pokédex Shorts feature chibi versions of Mairin and Chespie as they present the shorts, providing commentary. Usually, Alain and his Mega Charizard X join in and co-commentate. These Pokémon are often ones that Alain and Charizard fought during their journey.

Sometimes, Steven appears to present instead of Mairin. Steven's lectures often feature Legendary Pokémon, such as Mega Latias and Latios. XY044 and XY054's lectures were provided by the narrator of the Mega Evolution Specials.
