This card was released in the English {{TCG|HeartGold & SoulSilver}} expansion with artwork by [[kawayoo]], originating from the Japanese {{TCG|HeartGold Collection}}. In Japan, a promotional print of this card was released before the actual version. This print has a graphic covering Feraligatr's Surf attack, which was revealed upon its actual release. The card was awarded to players who participated in Gym Challenge events in September 2009. The graphic on this Japanese promotional version displays the Pokémon Card Game LEGEND series logo and HeartGold Collection logo.
