This article is about shipping. As hints and evidence for ships are mostly speculation, this page may contain personal points of view. |
MangaShipping (Japanese: タケナツ TakeNatsu) is the belief that Brock and Sabrina belong in a romantic relationship. Its name comes from the fact that it was only prominently addressed in The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga.
Manga evidence
- Hints of this ship only exist in the fourth chapter Haunting My Dreams and are primarily from Brock.
- When Ash asked Brock what he was doing in Saffron City, Brock responded by telling Ash that he and Sabrina are old friends. When Ash asks "JUST friends?", Brock responds "Please don't rub it in like that. I get depressed easily.", indicating that he is sad not to be in a romantic relationship with her.
- After Ash's battle with Sabrina, the three of them ate dinner together at the Saffron Gym. When Sabrina had to step away to take a telephone call, Ash blushed as he said goodbye. Brock remarks that Ash must have a weakness for cute girls, implying he thinks Sabrina is cute himself.
- After they kill the Black Fog, Sabrina starts crying and throws herself onto Brock.
Trivia
- Despite the manga having an anime foundation, Sabrina's personality in The Electric Tale of Pikachu is vastly different from her anime or game persona: she is actually very kind. When Ash lost to her, she warmly welcomed him to stay and watch how the other Trainers fight.
