Adventure Sync is a feature in Pokémon GO that allows players to track walking distances even when the game is completely turned off. This is done via the API of Apple's Health app for iOS and Google Fit for Android. The feature was introduced on November 1, 2018.
Weekly rewards
Every Monday, players can redeem weekly rewards based on the total distance they walked in the past seven days. Rewards are given for hitting total weekly distance of 5 km, 25 km and 50 km. Reaching the benchmark for a longer-distance rewards would also yield rewards for the shorter distances.
For each distance achieved, players will receive all guaranteed reward bundles and one of the random reward bundles. However, it is possible to receive no random reward bundles for a distance reached due to a bug in which the game awards a player an Egg when there are no Egg slots available. [1]
