The distribution method of Pokémon TCG Gym promotional cards has differed since its inception. To this end, official organizers of the TCG in Thailand promoted the FunFromHome initiative, which encouraged people to continue enjoying the game from home. Promotional cards that were due for release as part of the fourth season were instead available as gifts with purchase from thirteen online retailers—a campaign named "Bring the Gym Battle Home". The groups of 5 cards were incorporated into phased releases available with certain products for a limited time. With the official release of the Pokémon Trading Card Game in Thailand, The Pokémon Company produced a collection of SM-P Promotional cards to accompany cards released during the Thai Sun and Moon Era. These cards feature the same SM-P suffix and "PROMO" symbol used on the equivalent Japanese collection but comprise different cards. The first card available was Pikachu, previously a Korean-exclusive release, which was given away with the purchase of a Legends Awakened Set A and Set B booster box as part of an event celebrating its launch. The majority of subsequent cards were awarded at participating locations hosting Pokémon TCG Gym meetings, which operate much like Pokémon Leagues outside Asia. These events typically comprise tutorial sessions for beginners, casual Pokémon Card Day events, and Gym Battle events held on different days, though the events stores host vary.
