Was AZ's (initial) intention to make a weapon or to make a revival machine? It's unclear. The first quote states that the device was a revival machine that turned into a weapon, while the second states that the device was always a weapon. 1) Both used an incredibly powerful weapon, in the case of Ashwatthama the Brahmashira (on Wikipedia)/Brahmastra (in popular culture). The weapon they fired ultimately ended the war.
2) Both committed serious crimes, Ashwatthama in the form of attacking the Pandava camp at night, against the rules of Kurukshetra War and firing Brahmastra toward the womb of the Uttara,  the daughter-in-law of Arjuna.
3) He was also cursed for 3000 year. Though AZ was not directly cursed, the leaving of Floette acted  more-or-less as a curse.
Ashwatthama not knowing how to take back the Brahmastra, instead directs the weapon towards the womb of the pregnant Uttara in an attempt to end the lineage of the Pandavas. The angered Pandavas try to kill Ashwatthama, but the Supreme lord Sri Krishna curses that for 3000 years ,he will suffer to the excessive amount but still he will not die, his skin will start to melt but still he will not die, nobody will come in front of him.-Text directly from Wikipedia.
4) Both committed a form of massacre, AZ by firing the weapon and Ashwatthama by the attack at night.--Anishdeb (talk) 18:29, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Jotun?

Is it possible that AZ might be based of a Jotun? (forgot how to spell it.) For those who don't know, they are giants that exist in Norse myth, which various aspects of X and Y are based off.--BigBadBatter (talk) 00:39, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

AZ does not have much in common with Jotnar from Norse mythology. Jotnar were not necessarily huge like giants in other mythologies, and they were masters of magic. They could be the size of a man or a mountain or anything in between. They could transform into animals and make illusions. They are also the same race as the Norse gods. In Norse mythology, the difference between Jotnar and gods is the difference between different families; if you were a Jotun and married a god, you were treated as a god for marrying into the family.--Dunkleosteus (talk) 01:54, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

AZ's Floette

Is AZ's Floette is the same as the Floette that was revealed by a hacker a few weeks back? - - unsigned comment from Sage1661 (talkcontribs)

    • Possibly, but it can't be posted unless it's comfirmed officially.BraviaryGirl23 (talk) 00:02, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Spoiler alert?

I was thinking that we could have a toned downed version of the article. Both me and several friends were spoiled just by browsing through. ~Bobo (talk) 22:50, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

This is an encyclopedia for the Pokemon series, which features detailed information on the characters of said series. Also, the game has been out for a month and a half, going on two, so it's not our fault that you got spoiled. Do you have a suggestion as to how we can tone the article down? Ataro (talk) 23:13, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
If you don't want spoilers, don't look at the article. Simple as that. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 23:37, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Battle Music

Since according to the trivia AZ's battle music is that of the Gym Leader battle style, even though he's classed as a Pokemon Trainer. It may be a hint that if & when Pokemon Z comes out, he will be a Gym Leader. Frahaleah 19:14, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

That's speculation. The Bulbagarden Forums would be a better place to discuss that. Արիանո 19:52, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

Beaten

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you lose to him during the credits? I have looked around and most people have said that even if he beats you, the game will react as if you won and events will play as normal. If this is the case, should it be mentioned that AZ is the only trainer you can lose to and not have to return to a Pokemon Center immediately after (White out). Darkcloud1111~Fastest Hero Alive 10:43, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

I don't think he's the only trainer you can lose too. I lost to Korrina in the Mega Evolution battle in my second playthough and didn't white out. She still gave me the mega ring and Lucario like normal. --Morgil27 (talk) 07:25, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Name made of just letters

I changed that line of trivia to state only capital letters. I know what the intent is, but I'm pretty sure all human characters' names are made of just letters. It needs to be reworded in a way which both uses the original intent, as well as being accurate.

For the record, I pronounce the name like Auhz, not like A-Z. --TruePikachu (talk) 05:56, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Backstory conflict?

-He succeeded, but he was unable to overcome his despair and turned the machine into a weapon (Under The Games section)

-AZ built the ultimate weapon to revive her, and succeeded. (Under Pokémon)

Was AZ's (initial) intention to make a weapon or to make a revival machine? It's unclear. The first quote states that the device was a revival machine that turned into a weapon, while the second states that the device was always a weapon. Partone (talk) 19:36, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Partone
