So I was watching Pimpnite's video on Genesect sweeping. At one point into the video, he Dynamaxed his Chill Drive Genesect against a Dragapult and used a Max Strike that was coming off of Techno Blast. However, when he used it, it turned into Max Hailstorm and did Super Effective damage. Should we add this sort of information? | So I was watching Pimpnite's video on Genesect sweeping. The only Pokémon who can use this move never receives STAB from it? --☯ *Ɣℯ№ӎօṫհ* ☯ 22:47, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- It would appear so --+ Joeshie + (is Mæ!) 22:50, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- Not that it would be impossible to get this move to be a STAB. You'd need to sketch it to a Smeargle, and then use it. Then it would gain stab from Smeargle as long as Smeargle’s type is still normal and not affected by a type changing move like Conversion and that the Smeargle does not hold a Cassette. The Smeargle could of course hold a Cassette, but then the added step of changing Smeargle's type to match the Cassette somehow comes into affect as well as having the move Techno Buster sketched. Anyway you do it, there is a way of getting it as a STAB move, a convoluted way at that.--QX Deoxys 06:27, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Photon Blaster
Where did anything like this got translated from? O_o The attack description just says "Releases light bullets at the opponent. The type changes according to the held Cassette." It doesn't even mention photon (光子 or フォトン) anywhere.KurowaSan 23:23, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Event Only?
I've been looking into the move, as well as Genesect for that matter, and I read on the "Learnset" part of Genesect's article that it gets Techno Buster as a starting move. So, using Action Replay, I went and got myself a LV. 6 Genesect, and found it did NOT have Techno Buster. Just to be sure, I caught another one at LV. 6, then caught 3 more, at LV.1. I found that NONE of them had Techno Buster. Should this page (and Genesect's) be changed so that it says it's an Event Move? I'm looking for an Action Replay code for an Event Genesect to see if that has Techno Buster. Agent M 16:18, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Ah, never mind, it needs to be Move Tutor'd onto it, like Victini and Ball of Flame. Agent M 12:37, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
I was wondering why my lv.100 genesect didn't know techno blast.WWWAJG 22:16, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Type Rotation
Are or should we put the type rotation just like we do for Judgment? --Landfish7 00:48, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
- I think that would be a good idea if you could edit it to only show the types it can be. Gliscorguy54 00:49, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
In the anime
The user fires a ball of energy from a cannon. The type changes depending on the Drive the user holds.

Genesect fires a black and purple; fire-like, ice-like, water-like or electricity-like (Depending on the Drive attached) beam of energy from its cannon at the opponent.
Red Genesect | Genesect and the Legend Awakened | Debut
Burn Drive Genesect | Genesect and the Legend Awakened | Dealt Fire-type damage
Chill Drive Genesect | Genesect and the Legend Awakened | Dealt Ice-type damage
Douse Drive Genesect | Genesect and the Legend Awakened | Dealt Water-type damage
Shock Drive Genesect | Genesect and the Legend Awakened | Dealt Electric-type damage |
How do people feel about this? The Genesect don't have different Mini Sprites so it seems silly to list each one (see moves Furfrou has used) This is also consistant with this same template on Weather Ball (move). I also think the custom ShinyMS shouldn't be used as it never actually appears in a game. Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 08:02, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
