Is it really appropriate to say that the ability originated as a TCG attack? The only connection is that they share the same name, which is already a common phrase in English. I think their differences outweigh their similarities. The TCG attack is singular not plural, it puts the opponent to sleep whereas the ability harms pokemon that are already asleep, the TCG attack also has the added effect of confusion.
