Release information
A prototype Pokémon Leagues were given the Trainer Deck B, which included this card, before the Base Set's official release. This print has a red border and "Trainer Deck B" printed on the back. This card was included in the Base Set with artwork by Keiji Kinebuchi, first released in the Japanese Expansion Pack. It was reprinted in the Base Set 2 expansion.
It was later included in the Boundaries Crossed expansion, first released in the Japanese Cold Flare expansion, as an Ace Spec Item card with updated artwork by Ryo Ueda. Even though the Boundaries Crossed version is technically considered a reprint, the Base Set print cannot be substituted for it in sanctioned play. This is because the newer version has had a "major text change" (the Ace Spec designation).
The Boundaries Crossed print was reprinted as a Non Holofoil in the Japanese Extra Regulation Box released on October 4, 2019.
