Didn't flareon learn all its move at least twice? Infact didn't all eeveeluions have the same thing going on? - [[User:BludDMess|BludDMess]] ([[User talk:BludDMess|talk]]) 02:06, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Would it be a stretch to suggest that some traits of Flareon may have been inspired from the {{wp|Lionhead rabbit}}? Flareon's body structure is generally stockier compared to the rest of the eeveelutions, similarly to a domestic rabbit, and the lionhead breed is known to have a thick mane and has that tuft of hair that is a trait unique to Flareon. Plus, the long ears are generally, rabbit-like.
I'd also argue that the red fox is a weak link to suggest that it serves as an inspiration for Flareon's design, as the orange coloring is only there to represent its type, and red foxes have a slim body structure (the original trivia states that Flareon and red foxes share the same body shape, but that's not really true when you compare it to the likes of Nickit and Thievul, actual red fox pokemon who are slimmer in design) compared to Flareon which has a shorter and stockier shape.
I'd like to hear some opinions about this.

Hi, there, Pika! I‘m so sorry you had to wait two years for someone to actually reply to this excellent point you made regarding Flareon’s true appearance and morphology... (I hope this isn’t considered necroposting, but I feel it is extremely necessary considering the errors in the current origin section for Flareon, and many of the Eeveelutions.)
No, that’s not a stretch at all! It’s extremely valid and accurate morphology-wise! It’s a stretch to say that Flareon looks like a fox - because it truly doesn’t...
I absolutely agree with you about Flareon actually having traits of lionhead rabbits, and actual lions, rather than “red foxes” or any kind of vulpine. Its morphology is quite feliform and lagomorphic, not remotely vulpine - especially in its face (short muzzle, tiny triangular nose similar to a rabbit or domestic cat) and its overall stocky body shape is both leonine (it has a lion-like mane) and very lagomorph (rabbit-like). It looks nothing like a fox morphology-wise. The huge puffy tail isn’t even vulpine - it is likely simply flame-shaped to represent its fire element, I believe. And lions are commonly associated with fire.
It also resembles the Norwegian Forest Cat and Maine Coon long-haired cat breeds (the stocky build, mane, and puffy tail) - just thought that would also be worth mentioning for its origin in addition to what you said.
I agree with you. I would definitely say Flareon is based on a lion, certain long-haired domestic cat breeds, and a lionhead rabbit. “Red fox” should be removed entirely as a possible origin, in my opinion, and replaced with your excellent theory.
Also, Jolteon’s origin section is a complete disaster, in my opinion. A herding dog and a coyote??? No... It isn’t remotely caniform... Eevee and the Eeveelutions resemble various feliforms/felines and lagomorphs. None look canine or vulpine. As others have tried to point out, Jolteon clearly resembles both a jackrabbit and a cheetah in its morphology, in addition to its speed and coloration as well. It even has a short little tail beneath its spines, like a hare. It isn’t at all like Bolthund, the actual electric herding dog. Might want to check out Jolteon’s page for that error.
Also, don’t know why “dog” and “fox” are is still in Vaporeon’s origin section...
None of the Eeveelutions are vulpine or canine. I also see only lagomorph and feline/feliform in their morphology and even their behaviors.
Hopefully someone can fix this error for all of them like Sylveon, Espeon, and Umbreon’s origin sections were corrected.

Disambig?
When I wanted to access the description of a TCG booster pack, I typed "booster" and ended up here (as I forgot Booster is also the japanese name of Flareon). So the question is, should we make a disambiguation page between the Pokemon and the Booster pack? Yohrd 07:48, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Wrong Sentence, I think?
In Generations I and II, and if Skill Swap or Gastro Acid is used, or if the opponent has Mold Breaker, the effectiveness of Fire-type moves is ½×.
The sentence I refered to in Jolteon's talk page is at most ambiguous, but this one is certainly wrong. It *has* the "and" after the first condition. Isn't it wrong? --Bbbbbbbbba 10:31, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Dog???
Is Flareon, Vaporeon, Glacieon, Leafeon, Espeon, Umbreon, eevee, and Jolteon based on dogs, or Cats????--User:Corynofplatinum 00:08, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- According to the origin section of the page, they are most likely based on both. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 00:11, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
some are more dog like and some are more cat like for example the dog like ones are eevee jolteon flareon umbreon leafeon and glaceon while the cat like ones are vaporeon and espeon (Ataro 00:21, 20 May 2010 (UTC))
Trivia - Flare Blitz
Is it really trivia that Flareon is a physical attacker that can't learn Flare Blitz? You could say something like that for any move that any Pokemon doesn't know. I didn't wan't to remove it with out asking first, but I really don't think this is any more of a piece of trivia than it would be if I just said Flareon sucks competitively. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that is the real motivation behind this trivia piece. Jas61292 06:43, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
"Flareon Has No Moves"
Would it be worth mentioning in trivia that Flareon has achieved meme status for its weak movepool? Kookamooka 13:00, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Origin
Would it be a stretch to suggest that some traits of Flareon may have been inspired from the Lionhead rabbit? Flareon's body structure is generally stockier compared to the rest of the eeveelutions, similarly to a domestic rabbit, and the lionhead breed is known to have a thick mane and has that tuft of hair that is a trait unique to Flareon.
