The Technical Machine Machine, (Japanese: わざマシンマシン Move Machine Machine) or TM Machine, is a machine found in Pokémon Centers across Paldea in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It can be used to make TMs using League Points and materials dropped by wild Pokémon.[1]
Features
Making TMs
If the user chooses to make a TM, they are presented with a list of TMs, and can be sorted by various categories. The list will display the type and TM number of the move, as well as a visual preview of the move. When a recipe is selected, it will display the name of the move, the move's description, power, accuracy, PP, as well as the required resources to craft the TM. Crafting a TM requires a certain number of League Points, or LP, as well as materials obtained by defeating wild Pokémon. These materials are possible to obtain while travelling with a walking Pokemon, including when the Auto Battle feature is used to defeat wild Pokémon nearby.
TMs crafted using the TM Machine are only usable once, similarly to how TMs behaved in older generations, and how TRs behave in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
More TMs will become available for production as the user progresses through the story.
Earning LP
League Points will be obtained as the player progresses the story. In the directory of the machine, the player also has the option to exchange materials for a number of League Points.
