Team Break appears in Pokémon Masters EX. Their goal is to steal strong Pokémon from other Trainers and sabotage the Pokémon Masters League. Its members wear masks that resemble the team's logo turned sideways. The masks seem to be able to control whoever that wears them without affecting their mind. It is revealed that the members of Team Break are trainers that Lear rejected in the past.
The player first encounters Team Break at the start of Chapter 2 when some of their members try to steal the player's Pokémon. With the help of Barry and Paulo, they defeat the gang of members at a nearby cave hideout. In Chapter 7, Team Break lures the player's team and Norman into a cave and then blocks off the entrance in an attempt to get rid of Norman from the PML. However, they manage to defeat the thugs and find another way out. Team Break also reappears in Chapters 9 and 10 where they make further attempts to steal Trainer's Pokémon before being intervened by the player.
During the events of Interlude 2, Team Break manages to steal Hoopa from Lear's royal manor and then forces Hoopa to teleport strong Pokémon against its will. Calem and the player's team infiltrate Team Break's hideout and defeat the thieves with the help of Cynthia. Lear, Rachel, and Sawyer enter the hideout after it had been already cleared by the player and fail to locate the stolen Hoopa.
In Chapter 24, Team Break interrupts the PML battle between the player's team and Elesa's team, intending to stop the PML by stealing everyone's Pokémon. Although they initially have the upper hand, Paulo comes with reinforcements and Team Break is ultimately defeated.
In Interlude 5, Team Break challenges Lear to come to them alone if he wants Hoopa back. In Interlude 6, Team Break takes on Lear with the Pokémon they had Hoopa teleport to Pasio. Using them, they're able to defeat Lear's Pokémon and capture him, taking him to their base.
Team Break has also appeared in various story events and legendary events. In the story event, Shining Star, Team Break interrupts Elesa's fashion show demanding her sygna suit. They are eventually defeated by the player with the help of Elesa, Marley, and Skyla. In the legendary event, Pure Hearts and Rainbow Wings, Team Break aims to recruit Ho-Oh, but they are ultimately driven away by Ho-Oh.
