Mew (Japanese: ミュウ Mew) is a Psychic-type Basic Pokémon card. It is one of the Wizards Black Star Promos.

Release information
This card was released as a Wizards Black Star Promo through the Pokémon League in June 2002. In Japan, it was first available as an Unnumbered Promotional card on an insert in the February 1997 issue of CoroCoro Comic, released on January 15, 1997. This print uses glossy card stock. Another Unnumbered Promotional print on regular card stock was later released through the JR East Pokémon Stamp Rally, which ran between August 9 and 17, 1997 on the Yamanote Line. People taking part had two days to collect stamps from each station on the line in special stamp books. 100,000 reserve tickets were available to book between July 27 and August 8, 1997. Participants that managed to collect 10 stamps were given a Pokémon Trainer Certificate. Participants that managed to collect all 30 stamps were given a two-card set that included Mew and a variant Surfing Pikachu.
A mail-in prize draw offering another glossy copy of this card was published in the November 1998 issue of CoroCoro Comic, released on October 15, 1998. People wishing to enter the prize draw were required to affix the application ticket on the bottom left of the article page to a postcard and send it to Shogakukan. Two thousand winners were sent a set of four cards mounted on two plain sheets: Mew and Mewtwo on one; another Mewtwo and Misty's Staryu on the other.

Trivia
- This card is commonly known as Glossy Mew or Lily Pad Mew. The former refers to the Japanese CoroCoro version, while the latter refers to an interpretation of the card's illustration.
- Psyshock's effect was misprinted on the English version, stating "Confused" instead of "Paralyzed". Additionally, the Pokémon Power text is red instead of blue, as per other non-Japanese Psychic-type cards.
Origin
Psyshock's Japanese name is that of Confusion, a move in the Pokémon games; however, Mew cannot learn it. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue.
