Release information
This card was released as a promotional card. In Japan, it came with Volume 1 of Pokémon Trainer's Magazine, released in May 1999. The English version of the card was released through Pokémon card leagues in August 2001.
Trivia
- This card is commonly known as Snap Pikachu, in reference that the character image is a photo from Pokémon Snap.
- This is the only Pokémon card to have "Photo." instead of "Illus." where the illustrator name is traditionally placed.
Origin
Scratch is a move in the Pokémon games, though Pikachu can not learn it. Thunderbolt is also a move in the Pokémon games, which Pikachu can learn. The card’s Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Yellow, though it is reworded.
