On October 25, 2023, it was announced that this card is to be banned from all sanctioned Pokémon TCG tournaments using the Expanded format, starting from October 27, 2023 onward. The reason for the ban is not stated; however, it is assumed to be the fact that Scoop Up Net allows for repeated uses of powerful Abilities which activate when the Pokémon is placed on the Bench, such as Shaymin-EX with its "Set Up" Ability (Shaymin-EX itself has been banned from the Expanded format since November 27, 2020).
